Anton T. Boisen Papers: Physical Archives and Processing

. . .

As a Project Archivist for a theological institution, I developed Archival Processing Guides with standardized structure & description, The Digitization Guide & Preservation Guide was compiled for future interns, staff & volunteers to maintain the archival collections. I treated the collection in aggregate, & holistically respecting des fonds, & original order, when possible, This collection represents the official records & personal papers documenting Anton Boisen,  the pioneer founder of the clinical pastoral education movement & a progressive empiricist theologian. I processed the collection at file-level & the multimedia, photographic collection at item-level. It was arranged in series & sub-series. The intention of this project was to process the records, so that they could be used pedagogically by faculty & scholars in meaningful instruction, conveying institutional legacy, & so the archives, as a living breathing, organism, could reciprocally benefit from students & scholars’ insights.
